Adding Adsense on Blog Post Left or Right Side and Below the Post

In my previous post, I discussed how to place Adsense or Chitika Ads in between the blog title and the post for a better CTR. Today, I am going to discuss how to put the ads on the left or right side of the blog post or below the post.

If you have not read my previous post about Chitika and Adsense, you need to read it now since you will only be adding a two line code and interchanging the location where the code is placed.  In order to be able to do this, you will have to convert your Chitika or Adsense code to xml. Refer to the previous post on how to do this (hyperlink above). After that go to;

  • Blogger Dashboard
  • Design
  • Edit HTML
  • Download your template before changing anything
  • Click on Expand Widget Template
  • Using  CTRL + F

Locate the following code;

 <data:post.body/>

Just above the code, copy and paste the following. Your new code will look like this;

<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == & quot;item&quot;'>
<div style='float:right; margin-left:5px;'>
Paste your converted Chitika or Adsense Code
</div>
</b:if>
<data:post.body/>

Note that, the coding is still the same as the one I discussed previously. The only difference is the areas that I have highlighted in bold.

The above code <div style='float:right; margin-left:5px;'> is meant to make the Chitika or Adsense ad to appear on left side of the post.

If you want to place the ads on the right side of the post, use the following code; <div style='float:left; margin-right:5px;'>.

How to Add Adsense or Chitika Code Below the Post

This is almost similar with placing the code in between the title and post but this time, you need to place the Adsense or Chitika code below the code; <data:post.body/>.

Your final code will look like this;

<data:post.body/>
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;item&quot;'>
Your converted Chitika or Adsense Code
</b:if>

Preview your changes and if your ads are working properly. Save the template. Check out on this blog on how your ads should look like. If your ads are not fitting well in the page, adjust the width and the height of the ads measurement accordingly.
