7 Mistakes that Can Lead to Your Blog Getting Penalized

Avoid Cloaking
This is presentation of different information to search engine than what is displayed in your web page or presenting different content or URLs to user and search engine. Example could be; serving a page of text to Google search engine while indeeed your page is full of images or what displayed on your page to be seen by user is different from what is found in Google search engine. To be safe, just avoid using any tricks to improve search engine rankings.

Don't Participate in Link Schemes
Schemes designed to increase ranking should not be used whether for a fee or free. Try to avoid links to web spammers or bad neighbors with irrelevant materials.  Your ranking may be affected by those links instead.

Don't Use Unauthorized Computer Programs
These programs will eventually lead to violation of terms and services. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google.

Avoid Hidden Text or Links
These are links that are intended to be crawled by Googlebot but are invisible to human eyes. Google consider your site untrustworthy since it presents information to search engine differently than than to visitors. This can be use of white text with white  background, text behind images, use of CSS to hide text and setting font size to zero.

If your site is perceived to contain hidden text and linkd that deceive the audience, it is might be removed from the Google index and will not appear in search results pages.

Don't Send Automated Queries to Search Engine
This require use of special software like Webposition Gold which is prohibited by Google. Google will definitely index your page without having to command it to do so.

Avoid Keyword Stuffing
This is the practice of loading a webpage with keywords in an attempt to increase page rankings. Filling your webpages with keywords will results in negative user experience and can eventually lead to more harm than good. You should focus on creating quality, useful information and use the keyword appropriately where it need to be applied.

Avoid Duplicating Your Contents
Use of similar contents is not allowed. Do not create multiple pages, subdomain or domains with substantially duplicate content. If your site contains multiple pages with largely identical content, there are a number of ways you can indicate your preferred URL to Google such as canonicalization.
